If you wanted to read a bit more about me before investing time with reading into my life story… That’s okay! This blog has now gotten past 100 chapters and that’s a lot of writing to read through.
This blog is about me. I’m just your typical Asian who grew up in Toronto, Canada in a single mother household. Like a lot of people in my demographic, in high school I did a lot of music and privately learned an instrument (the Cello). I also did a lot of other things like lifeguarding, breakdancing and singing, most of which would impact my university life in some way. Speaking of university, I double majored in Science and Music. Kind of a weird mix but I was happy with it. As for after all of that? Well … you’ll just have to read the blog to find out.
Now, you may be thinking…okay…but that sounds kind of boring doesn’t it? Why read this story when it seems so typical? That’s a fair question. To be honest, this writing thing wasn’t originally meant for an audience. The story was mostly just for me. You see, I started writing as a practice in therapy and after a while, it kind of just stuck. Then, somewhere down the line, a familial tragedy that was very avoidable (well…sort of) occurred to my mom and I that kind of redefined the narrative as a cautionary tale. Yeah, that’s right. Despite the tons of stories about my background and upbringing, in the end, one incident would kind of change the flavor of it all.
If you’re thinking: “Okay. If it’s just a cautionary tale, why not just tell it straight up and go from there without all the filler episodes that is your life?”. That’s a fair point. To that end, I would recommend you go to the homepage and start the journey at the Red Chapters (Chapter 134).
With that said, I am recommending you read everything from the beginning because I think it if you do, it would be an antithesis to the crime related to the incident. By this, I mean to say that there is a villain in this story and they are an unfeeling and unsympathetic one at that. They couldn’t care less about the mess they made nor the lives they ruined. I’m pretty sure if brought to light, they wouldn’t even be able to pick out my family from any other.
Unfortunately, it’s a fact that sadly goes both ways.
Or in other words…
They got away with it.
As you may expect, this blog, having started as a practice in therapy means there will be a bit of trauma dumping. I don’t think the blog really works without mentioning the trauma at play. I can promise you that I did try to keep the victim card playing to a minimum as I personally don’t think that card really has much value at all but the story is one that requires it.
