Chapter 6

Before fully going into middle school though. There was a summer trip. My mom wanted to bring me back to China for a mini vacation.  So off we went. To be honest, this wasn’t very memorable. We went to the Great Wall, saw a few family friends and talked a lot with the government about my grandma. I was over the whole “I wanted to spend as much time with mom as possible” phase I had gone through the last time I was in China and now, at around 12 years old, the trip was just being ordered around by mom but being in a different country. 

In truth, I would have liked to have spent it with my friends instead. The main purpose of the trip was that my mom wanted to go back to China and sort out the process of bringing grandma over to Canada. She was getting my grandma ready to get immigrated. Sure enough, my grandma would come and live with us in the next few years. She would first be there on a VISA but she would eventually get her Permanent Residence card. Anyhow, middle school would be when Grandma would be living with us and would mark the first time that grandma, mom and I would be living in the same space.
